Well the skin doesn't go all the way to the edges like it shows in the picture so it actually looks like I've put a skin over my kindle instead of looking like it's part of the kindle design but that can be overlooked. Other than that I'm happy with it. It was super easy to apply, the rubbery feeling of the skin makes the kindle 2 easier to hold as I found it so slim and sleek that it actually slipped out of my hands every once in while. It also helps to keep it snug in it's case without slipping and I tried peeling the skin back to make sure it wasn't going to leave a nasty sticky residue on my kindle. I was pleased to find that, not only was there no residue, but the skin adhered right back as it was regardless of being pulled up. I know with other electronic items with white plastic that eventually your skin oils start to discolor the casing and when you clean it the finish in those frequently touched areas becomes matte and looks different from the rest of the case. With this I won't have to worry about that, and when this skin starts looking used and messy it's affordable enough to get another one or, since there is no residue, I can remove it and my kindle will still look good as new...which is great for resale value should I want to upgrade to the kindle 3 if they come out with one in the future. I was hoping to compensate for the lack of a backlight on my PRS-505 Sony Reader. Unfortunately, this product fails miserably and was a big disappointment. It obfuscates the reader's text because one side is textured to disburse the light from the weak LED lights embedded in the spine of the apparatus. You are much better off holding a flashlight in your teeth. The only good things I can say about the item is that the build quality, as far as materials, is good. That's the only thing that kept me from giving it one star. Don't buy one of these. I like this skin, but it doesn't cover the sides of the Kindle 2 completely. You can still see a very slim white border on the front and a silver border on back. It still looks nice and provides surface protection like it should. I think I will get a different skin that has a white background once I get tired of this Van Gogh so as to have the bordered sides that aren't covered up blend in with the skin itself. Overall, this skin is worth $14.99, and it was fairly easy to apply and reapply with no sticky residue left on the Kindle 2 when it's lifted off again and again. I had to lift it off and stretch it just a little to get the keyboard holes lined up correctly, but the whole process only took me about 15 minutes for the front, back and button stickers.

One thing to note as well, this skin makes my screen appear darker, but I don't know if that is because it's so drastic from the white color of the Kindle or a reflection of the dark skin or what. It still has a nice contrast to the eInk screen and is readable without any problems...just the device itself is much darker to look at and takes a little adjusting to get used to.

I am very pleased with this skin. It went on easily and is staying on. I have had it on for about 2 months and not a single pealing corner.

So many of the absolute beginning readers seem to be more a grouping of words than an actual story. I'm an engineer using IREX DR 1000 since one month.
I use it for technical articles, reports and books in A4 size PDF formats.

Screen is nice. Large enough for A4 documents, which would be barely readable with the other smaller e-readers.
PDF can be easily viewed with a good the zoom and pan functions.
SD memory is a great PRO, since you have large memories ( I tried up to 8 Mb ) and easily switch between several SD's.
Unfortunately is slow, if you open large scanned files you have to wait seconds every time you switch a page.
Not a big problem while reading, but a nightmare if you're flipping through a book looking for something.
Too bulky for reading novels and battery lasts few hours only.

Conclusions :
- IREX DR 1000 is the only good e-reader for professionals at dec 2009.
- Since I have to buy 10 e-readers for our office, I'll wait two more months to see the new Plastic Logic QUE before buying other 10 IR DR 1000

I just sent back my Sony PRS-300RC.

The reader itself works quite well.

But the required software interface, the Sony ebook library, apparently has compatibility issues with Vista.

Intermittently, and finally permanently, the ebook transfer from the library onto my ereader caused a window to pop up saying: "ebook reader has stopped working." I tried removing the hidden/system attributes from my ebooklibrary.exe so it could be added to the DEP exclusions list, but that didn't work. Temporarily turned off my Norton protection, too, but that didn't help, either.

My plan for the future is to wait until these issues are resolved. I must say, I resent being essentially a Beta tester for an ereader.
